Walking up Court Street this morning I saw a truck unloading something next to the huge scaffolding around the Brooklyn School for Global Studies at Baltic Street. It wasn't until I was right on top of them that I realized it had nothing to do with construction. It turns out Court Street is getting some brand-spanking new recycling cans for paper and glass/aluminum/plastic to go along with the battered waste cans we already had.
These guys were good sports. |
Looks like they already hit the other side of the street. |
Given the perpetually overflowing waste baskets, this is a good step. Free up space in the garbage can and divert more waste to recycling programs. It's a win-win. I'm still hoping for some BigBelly cans though.
