This Is The Northeast. Snowstorms Are A Fact Of Life

Teachers' Union and Elected Officials Blast de Blasio's School Day Call
No opportunity for criticism will go unused. I'm at work today in Manhattan.  Mrs Firstandcourt has business in Manhattan today.  Our kids are at school in the neighborhood.  And for working parents, shutting the schools means somebody is staying home from work.
A spokeswoman for Mr. de Blasio declined to comment on the criticism, but noted that city schools have only had 11 snow days since 1978. In the past, Mr. de Blasio has argued that open schools are important for working parents.
You can't shut the damn city down every time there's a snowstorm.  And the history bears that out: 11 snow days in over 30 years!  Get a grip people.
