The Montague Tunnel will be closing at 11:30 tonight . . . for the next 14 months. Fortunately there are robust alternatives on either side of the divide.
Hurricane Sandy did tremendous damage to NYC's transit system (and everything else). Now we pay the fiddler. In a massive undertaking the MTA will be completely refurbishing the tunnels and replacing systems, including moving sensitive signalling equipment out of harm's way.
