Koch Brother Throwing Fortune At Joe Lhota

David Koch Is Getting Involved in New York's Mayoral Race
Shocking that the worst human being in NYC will spend a fortune to try (and fail) to crush the people's choice.  What a stain of a person.
"Billionaire David Koch has given "hundreds of thousands of dollars" to a pro-Joe Lhota PAC called New Yorkers for Proven Leadership, though Lhota claims he "had no idea" that the conservative sugar daddy planned to help him out. "[He's doing it] because he doesn't want the Democrat to win. It's as simple as that," the GOP candidate said during a weekend appearance on MSNBC."

Larry Summers Withdrew!

Mother of god, I'm three for three!
"Earlier today, I spoke with Larry Summers and accepted his decision
to withdraw his name from consideration for Chairman of the Federal
Reserve."
I refuse to quote the kind words Obama had for Summers, as they are
all bullshit, but after the Syria climb-down and this, I'm starting to
warm up to the President again.

Now Is The Summers Of Our Discontent

3 Democrats Say They Will Oppose Summers for Fed - NYTimes.com
Dear god, might we go three for three?  Derailing the Summers nomination would be the icing on the cake.  And while Pat Roberts may be a chump, even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and again:
As skepticism grows among members of the president's own party, the White House has made it clear to Democrats on Capitol Hill that Mr. Summers is Mr. Obama's choice.Republicans, too, are wary of Mr. Summers. Senator John Cornyn of Texas, the No. 2 Senate Republican, and Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas have both said that they would not vote for Mr. Summers. In August, Mr. Roberts said, "I wouldn't want Larry Summers to mow my yard."

Times Changing. In Some Ways For The Better

In the Lumber Section at a Home Depot in Salt Lake City
Like this.  I heard about this video earlier in the week but didn't have time to watch. My wife insisted I see it and now I must insist that you do too. Truly heartwarming.
Things are changing. Watch the video after the jump. You'll be glad you did.

2 For 3 So Far This Month

U.S. and Russia Agree on Deal to Secure Syria's Chemical Weapons
deBlasio looking good, looks like no war on Syria … now I just need to see anyone on Earth besides Larry Summers appointed to the Fed and I'm aces.
"The United States and Russia have reached an agreement to remove or destroy Syria's collection of chemical weapons, possibly heading off a military strike by the U.S. against the Assad regime."

Brooklyn Bridge Park Construction: View From The Bridge

That's a big hole.  On the plus side, the renderings looked better than I remembered.
The work site for the larger of the two structures going in on Furman north of the footbridge.  The smaller structure is just south of the bridge.  I'm not sure which side is hotel and which is condos.
