Mayor Strikes The Right Balance On St. Patrick's Day

Good on ya, Mayor deBlasio:
Mayor de Blasio said Tuesday he will sit out the nation’s largest St. Patrick’s Day parade because of organizers’ refusal to allow participants to carry gay-pride signs.
. . . .
In response to an open letter calling for uniformed city workers not to participate in the parade, de Blasio said they should be able to partake if they wish.
“I believe uniformed city workers have a right to participate if they choose to, and I respect that right,” he said.
I'm Irish, as my name and translucent skin readily announce to the world.  I've always had a soft spot for the St. Patrick's Day tradition of revelry, but the one part I've always been puzzled by is the pointless hostility to gays.  There are plenty of gay and lesbian Irish people.  I've seen 'em with me own eyes!

To my Irish brethren:  Get with the times.  Embrace the inevitable change and you will be celebrated for it. The parade will go on as good as its ever been.

And anyway: how can you find the pot o' gold without a rainbow?

What Wilhelm along with his leftist Catholic hating cronies fail to grasp is this is a parade honoring a Roman Catholic Saint. He like the rest of his comrades have no concept of the 1st Amendment of the right to practice your religion freely. That There are a multitude of Catholic schools involved as well. The majority of police and firemen are Roman Catholic. The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Knights of Columbus etc. Would you demand of the Jewish Communities to have Palestinians or Iranians march in the Israeli Day Parade? Would you demand the Greek Independence Day parade have Turks? It seem the Kaiser and his fellow comrades are only tolerant to themselves. I'm sure the NYPD, FDNY are happy you aren't there. Possible to have Cuomo and Schumer join you in the boycott.

I think it is you who does not understand the 1st Amendment, which is in no way implicated either in (1) the Mayor's statements or (2) my post.

The rest of your word salad makes even less sense.
