Congratulations To NYC's Next Public Advocate, Tish James

Tish James Projected Winner of Public Advocate Runoff
I'm doing a bang-up job picking winners this year!
New York City's next public advocate will be Tish James, according to NY1and the Associated Press, which just called the Democratic runoff tonight.Ms. James, a Brooklyn councilwoman, is facing off against State Senator Daniel Squadron and currently holds a wide, 19-point percentage of the vote, with 83 percent of precincts reporting.
I still don't fully understand what Squadron was thinking here.  Granted I wouldn't wish the Albany commute and gridlock on anybody, but it seemed clear to me from the outset Dan would't be able to lock up Working Families and the unions while Tish likely would (and did).  So it was likely a losing race, and generated some unnecessary ill will for him along the way.
